So I actually like the Sarah Connor Chronicles. It’s not a really big hit with the mainstream, but I’ve never been one to follow the mainstream. I think it’s an interesting show and it gives me the chance to forget T3 as it is shown that T3 is not a part of the Sarah Conner Chronicles series.
I hated Terminator 3. As far as I am concerned it never ever happened. The movie was flat out stupid and bad. I don’t care how advanced the T-X is she shouldn’t have been able to control cars and things like she did. I mean come on, did everyone suddenly build in wireless connections and remote driving servos in their cars. Ok I can see it controlling some things, esp the T-1s near the end of the movie but cars, No. I don’t buy it. It’s just too much belief to suspend in order for me to accept that it can control something that doesn’t have that level of autonomous control build into it. Cars have no ability to drive themselves, ergo it can’t force them to drive themselves. That’s like using mind control to make people fly. T3 = Fail.
Terminator 4 is going to be coming out next year. I’ve only peaked at a couple of the screenshots and I have to say that I’m a little interested but wary. It’s not really a reboot but it doesn’t really depend on the previous movies either. Which is good and since it’s set early on in the war, before the T-101 was around, there won’t be any tempt to do things as stupid as the controlling cars like in T3. Or at least I hope so. When it is done right I absolutely love post apocalyptic settings. Fallout is a major win for me as well as many other Mad Max settings. So that’s one point that has my attention. Also I’ve sort of been waiting for a movie in the Terminator series that does this. I think it was long over due. All the flashbacks/flashforwards in the previous movies made me want more of that type of action.
I hope the Sara Conner series manages to get some more people interested because I do like it and want it to continue. I also hope that T4 isn’t like T3 and turns out good.
