Ah, South Africa. Land of my birth and family. Also the land of cars with flame throwers and various other theft deterrent devices. The new hotness now, ATMs equipped with pepper spray. If you start screwing with the ATM then it’s going to call the police and blast you with liquid pain. This can only end as well as the flame throwers on cars did. Hilarious. Not even before the article ends do I get a return on that prediction. Three workers doing maintenance on the ATM set it off.

I think this is funny but really it’s kinda a stupid idea. I mean you can easily cover or block the spray nozzle. Sure it would work the first couple times but people should wise up. Oh wait I forgot people are stupid so while some people would figure out that a simple sheet of plastic or whatever will stop it I’m sure there are going to be a ton of stories about how some retard with a stick got blasted into tears and puke.

I also think that it should be extended to blast people who take too long. Many a time I have wished that the ATM would just punch the moron holding up the line because they can’t figure out why they don’t have any money in their account.

Or rather should I say Welrish? Maybe Relsh? No well come up with something better for when someone screws up Welsh translations. I read this on Gizmodo. It’s also on the BBC. One of the many sites I routinely read. Apparently someone was making a road sign that had to have both English and Welsh on it. Well what do you do if you don’t know Welsh? Why you email someone that does Welsh translations of course. And that’s what they did in this case only the translator was out of the office and put an auto reply “I am not in the office at the moment. Please send any work to be translated” in Welsh back to the city. Guess what got put up on the sign. Yup, you guessed it. Ok, now my take on it. If you work as a translator, and seeing as this is Wales you probably mainly do English/Welsh translations. If you’re out of the office and use an auto reply like this maybe, I don’t know, put it up in more than one language. The translator was asking for it but the city isn’t in the clear either. Hey, here’s an idea double check things especially when, you know, the email doesn’t haven’t anything in it other than some stuff you can’t understand. I mean can you even imagine what would happen if this guy was quiting and send back a disgruntled message in Welsh. The sign could have read something along the lines of “I Fucking hate you and all of your stupid requests. I hope you die. I quit.” What would they have done then?

I think this is the first time I’ve actually seen Welsh. Honestly looking at this sign I can’t say that I recognize it as a language. It just looks like gibberish to me. I can look at Russian, French and whatever words and see that they are words but there isn’t any point in time that I can say looking at things like swyddfa and not think that someone has spilled soda on their keyboard. No offense Wales.
